England not under pressure ahead of Australia series

NEW DELHI: A day after chief national hockey coach Harendra Singh complained about the poor quality of food at Sports Authority of India centre in Bengaluru, SAI’S director general Neelam Kapur said an urgent meeting of the regional heads have been called to review the standard operating procedures.

“We are deeply concerned about the quality of food and hygiene in the SAI centres and give it the highest priority. The problem in Bengaluru has been brought to our notice during the sports minister’s visit in March. Orders have been issued to take corrective action, which includes hiring new kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality of raw food supply and improving hygiene standards,” she said.

LOS ANGELES: The 19-month-old daughter of Olympic skiing champion Bode Miller has drowned, police in California said on Monday. Emeline Gier Miller was found unconsciou­s in the swimming pool of a neighbour’s home in Cota de Caza, Orange County, on Saturday, police said. Miller and his wife Morgan had been attending a party at the address when the tragedy struck. “Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,” Miller said.
