KU PRO TEJINDER SHARMA SAYS THERE WAS A ‘TECHNICAL MISTAKE’ IN UPLOADING THE RESULTS

ROHTAK : The Kurukshetra University (KU) on Saturday evening took down the MA English entrance exam results from its website after candidates raised alarm over the ‘wrong answer key’ that allegedly led to poor results.

The exam, conducted by Kurukshetra University for entrance into seven Haryana universities, including KU, Maharshi Dayanand University, Chaudhry Devi Lal University, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Chaudhry Ranbir Singh University and Indira Gandhi University, was conducted on June 21.

The results were declared by the university on Friday on its website and an answer key was also uploaded. But students who took the exam pointed out that the answer key had many mistakes and some of the questions were also ambiguous, due to which a lot of candidates got less than 10 marks out of 100.

“The answer key for at least 40 questions was wrong. They have checked the papers based on this answer key and that’s why most of the students have failed,” said a candidate requesting anonymity. She said she got marks in minus.

After a day of horror for students, the KU on Saturday took down the results from its website without offering any explanation.

KU public relations officer (PRO) Tejinder Sharma said there was a “technical mistake” in uploading the results and that’s why they were taken down.

“It came to our notice that there was some mistake in the results. They have been taken down for correction and new results will be uploaded very soon,” he said.
