3YROLD RAPED BY COUSIN IN SONEPAT, ACCUSED HELD

ROHTAK: A three-year-old girl in Gohana town of Sonepat district was raped by her 16-year-old cousin, police said on Friday.

The accused, the son of the brother of victim’s father, called her out to buy her sweets from the shop. However, he took her to an abandoned under-construction house and raped her.

He then dropped her home and asked her not to tell anything to her parents. The police said the mother of the victim noticed she was traumatised and could barely speak. The family rushed her to a local hospital, where doctors confirmed rape on the threeyear-old. When asked, the victim named her cousin and narrated the incident. The family then went to police station and lodged an FIR, following which the police nabbed the accused boy. The police said the accused was produced in court and sent to a juvenile home.

MAN HELD FOR RAPING 12-YR-OLD IN JIND

In another incident, the Jind police have arrested a man for abducting and raping a 12-yearold girl. The incident took place in a village falling under sadar police station on June 19. The police said the accused abducted the victim from road and took her to a secluded plot where he raped her. The victim informed her mother about the incident, following which a case under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered. The police said they launched a massive hunt and managed to arrest the accused on Thursday.
