Yamunanagar jeweller was killed by another jeweller: Cops
KARNAL: Two days after the body of a city-based jeweller, Sanjeev Khanna, 50, was recovered from Ambala, the Yamunanagar police on Saturday claimed to have solved the murder case by arresting three people, including another jeweller.
As per the Yamunanagar police, accused Yogesh Suri, 25, hired two people Rohit Kumar and Santi of Yamunanagar for the murder.
The police said that during investigations, it was found that Yogesh, who runs a jewellery shop in Yamunanagar, used to purchase gold from Sanjeev for the past several years and he had to make payment for about 13 kg gold. He had also taken Rs 30 lakh on interest from Sanjeev, which he could not return.
Talking to HT, Yamunanagar city SHO Om Prakash said that during the police interrogation, Yogesh admitted that he decided to kill Sanjeev as the latter was pressuring him to return his money and make payment of gold.

return Sanjeev’s money, he decided to kill him. Yogesh hired Rohit and Santi for Sanjeev’s murder for Rs 3 lakh. They killed him by hitting on his head with a hammer and dumped his body in the fields atrajpura village of Ambala district, the police said.
After Sanjeev’s murder, Yogesh even called on his family and claimed that he had cleared his payments and did not know anything about his whereabouts. A local court sent the accused to police remand for six days.
