Counter oppn propaganda, Jain tells Hry BJP leaders

CALLS MEETING OF PARTY’S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON JULY 8 IN FARIDABAD

CHANDIGARH : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and Haryana affairs in-charge Anil Jain, who held a meeting with members of state Lok Sabha supervisio­n committee in Gurugram on Saturday, asked them to counter the propaganda of opposition parties.

While a discussion was held on the party’s standing in all the 10 Lok Sabha (LS) and 90 assembly seats ahead of the forthcomin­g parliament­ary elections, Jain stressed the need to counter the propaganda of opposition parties, namely Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress. The ruling BJP had won seven LS and 47 assembly seats in the previous elections.

The opposition parties have been flaying the BJP government mainly on the issues pertaining to farmers, Sutlej-yamuna Link (SYL) canal, irregulari­ties in recruitmen­ts and the law and order situation.

The 17 members of the committee and others present at the meeting included Union ministers from Haryana — Rao Inderjit (MP, Gurugram), Krishan Pal Gurjar (MP, Faridabad) and Birender Singh (Rajya Sabha member) — chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, organising secretary Ram Lal, state president Subhash Barala and ministers Ram Bilas Sharma, Capt Abhimanyu, Anil Vij and OP Dhankar, and party national secretary and former MP Sudha Yadav and media advisor to chief minister Rajiv Jain, besides others. The members were also given district-wise duties in the meeting, seeking their suggestion­s based on segment-centric issues for electoral strategy.

While Gurjar was assigned Palwal and Nuh districts, Rao Inderjit Rewari, Birender Singh Hisar, Sudha Yadav Bhiwani and Jhajjar, Barala Kaithal and Panchkula, Ram Bilas Sharma Gurugram, Capt Abhimanyu Jind, Vij Panipat, Dhankar Rohtak, Ambala MP Rattan Lal Kataria Yamunanaga­r, general secretary Sanjay Bhatia Fatehabad and Sirsa, general secretary Ved Pal Ambala and Kurukshetr­a, general secretary Sandeep Joshi, Faridabad, Mahenderga­rh and Charkhi Dadri and general secretary Suresh Bhat, Karnal and Sonepat.
