SURVIVOR SAYS AFTER THE CRIME SHE RAN TO PRINCIPAL WHO TOLD HER NOT TO REVEAL INCIDENT, MADE HER WASH BLOOD STAINS IN HIS WASHROOM

PATNA: Details of the FIR in the gangrape of a Class 10 girl in Bihar’s Saran district accessed by Hindustan Times paint the picture of a horrific crime, carried out over months in which the survivor was exploited by as many as 18 men and boys.

According to the survivor, her ordeal started in December when the minor son of her school principal, and a few other students, raped her at knifepoint in the school toilet.

The victim has said in the first information report lodged on July 6 that the first boys to rape her recorded the crime and threatened to make it public if she told anyone about the incident.

The survivor says that as she stumbled out of the toilet after the crime, she ran into the principal, Uday Kumar, alias Mukundji, and a couple of teachers.

“On seeing my expression and the bloodstains on my clothes, the principal called me to his chamber where I narrated the entire incident to him. Instead of summoning the accused and taking action, he warned me not to reveal the incident to anyone and made me wash the blood stains in his personal washroom before asking me to leave,” the girl said in the FIR.

She said when she returned to the school after 10 days, the principal called her to his room and sexually assaulted her, threatening to destroy her career if she resisted. The girl has accused 18 people, including her schoolmates, two teachers and the principal, of blackmailing her over the video and sexually exploiting her over the past seven months.

The victim told the police that she was subjected to sexual assaults till July 5. On that day, she said five of her classmates gang-raped her.

Chhapra Sadar’s deputy SP, Ajay Kumar Singh, who is leading the investigation, said they have arrested another minor, the seventh so far to be held in connection with the crime, and are continuing to look for others who are absconding. The school’s principal was arrested earlier but his son is still absconding

The police have booked the 18 people under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012.

The victim’s father, who recently came out of jail and encouraged his daughter to lodge the FIR, said the accused could influence the medical reports and the probe as they were influential people.

SP Harkishore Rai has assured the family the culprits will not be spared.

He said efforts were on to seize the mobiles on which the video of the girl’s gang rape was recorded and shared.
