Haryana took bold reforms, says industries minister
CHANDIGARH: REACTING to the Haryana government’s third position among states and union territories (UTS) across the country in ease of doing business, industries and commerce minister Vipul Goel on Tuesday said the state government took bold reforms in areas like easing construction permit approval processes, registering property, single window system and inspections procedures.
Haryana has moved up by three steps with an overall score of 98.07% improving from last year’s 6th rank when the state had scored 96.95%, according to the data released by the World Bank and department of industrial planning and promotion (DIPP).
The minister said key reforms included strengthening Haryana Enterprise Promotion Board, self- certification of building plan approval, removal of physical inspection of water meter, exempting green industries from compliance inspections and transparent mechanism of land allotment.
He also said that this year there was a major change in the evaluation methodology as end user feedback played critical role in deciding the overall service delivery and business climate of the state.
He said the DIPP also recognised ‘central inspection system’ developed by the state for improved and transparent inspection systems as the best practice among the other states.
