Kasni to assess candidates for Congress in Hooda stronghold

As per the directions of Rahul Gandhi, only hard working candidates will be chosen and individual interests will not matter
PRADEEP KASNI, IAS officer (retd)
ROHTAK : In a move that may not go down well with former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, retired IAS officer Pradeep Kasni — who recently joined the Congress party in HPCC president Ashok Tanwar’s camp — has been given the responsibility to assess candidates in the Rohtak Lok Sabha region for upcoming elections.
MUCH TO HOODA’S DISMAY
Kasni’s induction into the party had fumed Hooda camp, as the former IAS officer during his service had publicly criticised the appointments made to the Right to Information Commission and Right to Service Commission by the Hooda-led Congress government in 2014.
In a veiled attack at Hooda, Kasni during a press conference on Friday said they will put the interests of the party over any particular leader while giving tickets to candidates.
“I have been appointed as the supervisor of the Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency, wherein I will give the report of all interested candidates of all the assembly seats under this constituency to Congress leadership,” he said.
As per the directions of Indian National Congress (INC) president Rahul Gandhi, only hard working candidates will be chosen and individual interests will not matter,” the restired IAS officer added.
‘DECISION TAKEN WILL BE FINAL ‘
The retired IAS officer further said the decision taken by Congress leadership will be final and binding on all party workers irrespective of their posts.
He said the Congress had distributed responsibilities to party workers for upcoming elections and they will work at grassroots level to publicise their message.
Kasni said they were preparing to file a chargesheet against the BJP government for all the ‘wrongdoings’ done by the government since coming into power in 2014.
‘CONG WILL TELL PEOPLE ABOUT BJP’S WRONGDOINGS’
“The Congress will actively tell people about the wrongdoings of the BJP that have made their life so difficult under this government,” he said.
Kasni said Tanwar will begin the third leg of his ‘Cycle Yatra’ from Sampla in Rohtak on July 19.
He claimed there was no bickering within the party and maintained all leaders were working together to uproot the BJP from Haryana.
