Body of UP man dug out from Kaithal house

Rishipal, who hailed from Saharanpur, was employed in Kasauli; he was married in Keorak village of Kaithal

KARNAL : The Himachal Pradesh police have dug out the body a 40-year-old man from a house in Keorak village of Kaithal district and arrested the owner of the house on charges of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Rishipal, a resident of Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh, who was employed at a store of Khadi Gramodyog at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh. He was married in Keorak village. The police have arrested 25-year-old Ajay Kumar, a resident of Keorak, who allegedly practiced occultism in Kasauli and Keorak.

Rishipal had gone missing from Kasauli last month and his family members had filed a police complaint in this regard.

During investigat­ions, police received inputs that Ajay was allegedly having an affair with the wife of the deceased.

The police arrested Ajay and he confessed before the police that he had killed Rishipal after giving him some poisonous substance in milk and buried his body concealed in a box at his house in Keorak.

The police dug a 12-ft pit in the courtyard of his house from where the box containing the body was recovered.

When contacted, Kaithal sadar police station in-charge Lalit Mohan said the Himachal Pradesh police had contacted the local police and with the help of earth movers, the body was dug out. The HP police have taken the body to Himachal Pradesh for postmortem. The police are yet to ascertain whether Rishipal’s wife, whose name has been withheld so far, was also involved in the murder.
