VB recommends criminal cases against 39 officers
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana vigilance bureau (VB) has recommended criminal cases against 19 gazetted officers, 20 non-gazetted officers and 10 private persons in 22 investigations conducted by it in May this year.
The VB has also recommended departmental action against 27 gazetted officers and 34 non-gazetted officers in another investigation, a government spokesperson said.
Vijender Kumar, auditor in food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department at Sirsa was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe, while Ram Kumar, a lineman, posted at power house, Gohana road, Panipat was caught accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe.
Similarly, sub-inspector (SI) Balinder Singh of police station Farakpur, Yamunanagar district and Mahavir Mittal, examiner, copying branch of Rohtak court were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 and Rs 8,000 respectively.
The spokesperson said Kanwal Singh, auction recorder, grain market, Gannaur, Sonepat, and Ram Phal, passport and licence assistant posted in the office of DC Narnaul were caught red- handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 each.
Bir Singh, branch manager of Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank, Mundhal Khurd, Bhiwani, and Vikram Singh, patwari of Rewari, were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
