SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have released pictures of two men suspected to be involved in Tuesday’s attack in the city in which a CRPF man was killed.

The force has sought help of the people to identify the suspected attackers as shown in the photograph for the purpose of police investigation.

The photograph, released on Tuesday evening, depicts two bike borne men with face of the driver not clear as he is wearing a helmet. His pillion rider is wearing a T-shirt.

The picture appears to be extracted from CCTV footage.

“Anybody having any information regarding the said suspects may kindly inform Batmaloo police station on 9596770526 mobile number,” a police spokesman said.

The spokesman said the name of the person providing any clue or information regarding the suspects will remain confidential.

On Tuesday afternoon, suspected militants opened fire at the security forces’ personnel at Batamaloo near Fire & Emergency Services injuring two CRPF men.

One of the CRPF jawan, constable Shanker Lal of 23 Battalion, succumbed to his injuries while the other jawan was discharged from the hospital.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and initiated investigation.

The spokesman said the initial investigation into the case has led to some tangible leads on which police is working.

In June, police had released pictures of suspected attackers after the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari.

Police had released the photos of three bike-borne youth captured on cameras near the place he was shot to death in the city centre. Based on the CCTV camera recordings, two attackers were identified to be Kashmiri locals while one was a Pakistani.
