GURUGRAM: Three men have been identified and booked for allegedly gangraping an 18-year-old woman, whom they had kidnapped and held hostage for seven months in Rajasthan, Gujrat and later Gurugram, the police said on Saturday.

The woman has been sent for medical examination and efforts are on to nab the accused, the police said. The accused— Mukesh, Shiva, and Darbar— have been booked under IPC sections 376D (gangrape), 506 (threat to life) and 34, the police said.

Initially, an FIR was registered against the accused at the women’s police station, but was later referred to Odiya Khera police station in Bhilwara.

According to the complainant, the three men kidnapped her at knifepoint in December from Odiya Khera village of Rajasthan. She had gone there to pay off her father’s debt, the police said.

“The woman said she was taken to Gujarat and allegedly held hostage in a remote area where the accused took turns to rape her everyday. She was gangraped for seven months,” Rajbala, station house officer, women’s police station, said.

From Gujrat, she was taken to Rajasthan where she was again kept locked in a room and the three accused raped her repeatedly. She was later taken to Wazirabad in Haryana, where she saw her mother on the street. She managed to escape and narrated the incident to her family, who lodged a police complaint.
