MOGA: Police on Sunday arrested an Australian NRI, Kultar Singh Goldy, who was accused of harbouring gangster Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, alleged mastermind of November 2016 Nabha jailbreak, from Dhudike village.

Sekhon, Manveer, Rajwinder and Kulwinder, all wanted in Nabha jailbreak case, were arrested in February last year from Goldi’s residence at Dhudike village.

The Punjab and Haryana high court had stayed Goldy’s arrest in April last year and directed him to appear before the police, but he failed to abide by the orders.

A senior police official said Goldy was arrested from his residence on Sunday during a raid. Meanwhile, police have arrested nine proclaimed offenders (POS) in the last seven days in Moga district. Criminal and drug cases were registered at various police stations against those arrested.

The accused are Manga Singh of Daulewala village, a proclaimed offender in two drug cases lodged in 2014 and 2018, Nirmal Singh and Bhinder Singh of Daulewala.
