BFUHS to hold 2nd counselling from August 9
FARIDKOT : Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, will conduct the second round of physical counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for state quota seats in eight medical colleges from August 9-12, it announced on Saturday.
The venue will be the auditorium at the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot. BFUHS is the nodal body for counselling.
“We will update the tentative seats vacancy position of the state quota at the start of the next week. The final position on the vacancy of seats will be updated before the counselling,” said BFUHS registrar Dr Arvind Sharma.
Decks for counselling were cleared on Thursday after the Supreme Court allowed the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to declare the result of the second round of All-india quota MBBS counselling on Wednesday. The first counselling result of the BFUHS was declared on July 5 and students were asked to join their colleges by July 12
The university has declared that the process for counselling will follow the latest directions of the MCC. The MCC, on its part, has declared that as per SC directions, after the second round of counselling for All-india Quota seats, students who take admission under this category should not be allowed/permitted to vacate their seats. MCC has also directed universities to take fresh applications for the ‘mop-up’ round of MBBS/BDS counselling.
