Gurugram: 3 cases of rape of minors filed in a day

Three cases of rape against minors were registered at different police stations across the city on Thursday.

In the first case, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 24-year-old man in Chakkarpur Village near Sector 28, the police said. The girl, a student of class 6, is from West Bengal. She has been living with her family in the village since the last three years. Police said that the accused is a resident of Bihari Mandi in Chakkarpur. He had allegedly made a video clip of the minor and had been coercing her to elope with him. A case was registered under the POCSO Act.

In the second case, a 14-yearold girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at his house on Thursday, police said. They said the accused’s wife had allegedly asked the victim to come to her house for some work. Police said they are probing the wife’s involvemen­t in the case.

The statement of the minor was recorded under Section 164 of the CRPC before a duty magistrate. “We are conducting raids at suspected locations to nab the accused,” Umesh Kumar, inspector, Bhondsi police station, said.

In the third case, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her brother’s brother-in-law on Wednesday in Manesar, police said. ACP Shamsher Singh said, “The girl narrated ordeal to her family members on Wednesday after her father returned home.” The girl’s father alleged that the accused allegedly raped her on several occasions and threatened her. A case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act was registered.
