SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday morning recovered body of the 30-year-old man who was abducted by unidentified gunmen from the orchards of Harwan in north Kashmir’s Sopore.

The youth, identified as Tauseef Ahmad Gania and ran a shop at Uisoo village, was abducted by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday afternoon. With no information about him, his family released a video on Friday on social media where they asked his abductors to leave him unharmed. On Saturday morning, Gania’s body with his throat slit was recovered from an orchard in Harwan village.

No outfit claimed responsibility for the killing. Police, however, blamed Lashkar behind the incident. This is second killing in the area by unidentified gunmen this month. Earlier a labourer was killed in similar circumstances.

‘BJP RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING OF NC WORKERS’

SRINAGAR: A day after two NC workers at Karfali Mohallah locality in Srinagar, party legislator from Habba Kadal on Saturday accused the BJP and RSS of killing the two.

“RSS and BJP are responsible for killing of my workers. They were innocent and always helped poor people in the area,” Shamima Firdous said as he broke down during a press conference on Saturday. She added, “The BJP has fielded many independent candidates in the elections which NC boycotted. They want to ensure victory of their candidates at any cost.”
