SCHOOL DIRECTOR BOOKED FOR RAPING GIRL

A private school’s director in Rohtak’s Meham township has been booked by the police for allegedly raping a Class-11 student. Claiming that the accused had been behaving inappropri­ately with her for the past one year, the complainan­t alleged that on Thursday, he called her into his cabin and raped her. She said the director also threatened her.

ROHTAK: A private school’s director in Rohtak’s Meham township has been booked by the police for allegedly raping a Class-11 student.

Claiming that the accused had been behaving inappropri­ately with her for the past one year, the complainan­t alleged that on Thursday, he called her into his cabin and raped her.

She said the director also threatened her of dire consequenc­es if she complained about the incident to anyone.

The police said the girl did not inform about the incident to anyone for three days. However, her family started questionin­g her as she remained upset all this while. She then narrated the ordeal to her grandmothe­r, who accompanie­d her to the police station to file a complaint against the director. wthe police said that based on her complaint, they have booked the director under Section 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidati­on) of the Indian Penal Code and under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

“The accused has not been arrested yet as the investigat­ion in the case is going on. The medical examinatio­n of the victim was conducted and the report is awaited. Her statement before the magistrate was recorded on Sunday,” said Ram Nivas, the investigat­ion officer in the case.

In March this year, a principal of a private school in Gohana was arrested for allegedly raping a Class-10 girl on the pretext of passing her in the board examinatio­n.
