SAD stoking religious passions: Tript Bajwa
CHANDIGARH: Punjab rural and urban development minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Wednesday charged former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal with stoking religious passions through the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for their vested political interests.
“Desperately looking for agenda after facing boycott by the people over the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and misuse of institutions of SGPC and Akal Takht, the Badals are out to put Punjab on fire again, the way they had done in 1980. It is on record that it was the SAD that had given legitimacy to the killings by hailing such actions through a resolution in its working committee meet on August 20, 1980. I can forward that resolution to the Badals,” he said.
Bajwa said the Badals were determined to exploit the issue of “mistakes” in history book for Class 12 of the Punjab School

Education Board (PSEB), which has already been withdrawn on the orders of CM Captain Amarinder Singh. “These are frantic moves by the Badals to stay relevant by creating trouble in peaceful Punjab,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bajwa called upon the SGPC to provide details of the books that were published by it and subsequently withdrawn as there were blunders.
