Summon Sukhbir, EX-DGP Saini in Maur blasts case: SAD (A)

-

BATHINDA : Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has sought the cross-questioning of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in the Maur blasts case of January 2017. Seven children were among nine killed the in the blasts during campaigning ahead of the state assembly elections.

Mann’s demand comes days after former chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir and actor Akshay Kumar were summoned by a SIT investigating the 2015 firing incidents at Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan.

“The SIT probing the Maur blast case should also summon Sukhbir and Sumedh Saini,” Mann, who was at Gurdwara Takht Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo to pay obeisance on the martyrdom day of Baba Deep Singh, told reporters.

“This blast case will also lead to links between the Badals and the Dera Sacha Sauda. The SIT has already identified the culprits as ‘Dera Premis’ and absconding,” he added.

Questioning the state government, he said, “There has been no arrest in the Maur blast case; no arrest for the sacrilege incidents and no arrest for the police firing deaths at Behbal Kalan. What is the Punjab government doing and what did the previous regime of the Badals do?”

On the income tax department’s notice to Sikh preacher Baljit Singh Daduwal, Mann said Daduwal would explain as he was the affected person. “I can only say that not a single penny of Daduwal has been spent at the Bargadi Morcha,” he added.

Mann fired a fresh salvo at the Modi regime by saying, “If devotees can visit the Hindu pilgrimage site of Kailash Mansarovar, which lies in Chinese territory, then why have Sikhs not been given the right to visit Kartarpur Sahib, 3km from the Indo-pakistan border.
