Ensure BJP victory for continued development, says MP Inderjit

-

GURUGRAM: Pointing to the delay in announcing the candidates in some constituencies, Gurgaon member of Parliament, Rao Inderjit Singh, on Friday said that in a democratic party like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), there are several rounds of discussion before finalising the names.

Singh, who was addressing a public meeting in support of the BJP candidate Manish Yadav, on Friday said that his candidature was also finalised after a detailed debate. “The party has given a chance to the people of Badshahpur to elect a youth leader and it is imperative for the people to ensure his victory by a large margin,” he said, adding that it was peoples’ support that made possible the landslide win in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Singh’s push for the BJP candidate is a major talking point, as Yadav’s surprise entry at the cost of political heavyweight Rao Narbir Singh has caused unrest in the Ahir dominated constituency. While Singh exhorted the party workers and his own supporters to work hard for the next 15 days, senior BJP functionaries of the district, including district president, Bhupender Chauhan, and village leaders from across Badshahpur, were present to strike a united front.

In Gurgaon, a majority of BJP leaders seeking the tickets were present at the nomination rally of Sudhir Singla on Friday. These included Mukesh Pehalwan, Bodhraj Sikri, GL Sharma, Gargi Kakkar, Harvinder Kohli and Naveen Goyal.

Yadav is up against Rao Kamalbir Singh of the Congress and Rakesh Daulatabad, an independent candidate who is expected to give a tough fight to the BJP nominee. In 2014, Daulatabad had managed to get over 60,000 votes and proved a tough opponent to sitting MLA Rao Narbir Singh.

The Gurgaon MP also told the people that it was under the BJP rule that south Haryana had been able to overcome discrimination in development, jobs and infrastructure, which it faced for over 50 years. If this has to continue, then people will have to ensure the return of Khattar government, he added.

“There should be no hole in the boat and Badshahpur is a very large area so, there should be no mistake. We need to connect with the masses in the villages and new residents in developing sectors to ensure BJP win,” he asserted.
