Supporters slam JJP chief on social media for stitching up alliance with saffron party

KARNAL: Minutes after Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala extended support to the BJP for government formation, social media was abuzz with videos, photos and messages slamming him for joining hands with the saffron party.

In the videos, youths who claimed themselves to be dedicated workers of the JJP, were seen expressing their anger by burning the party flag and. The videos were uploaded on Facebook, Tiktok and Whatsapp. They could be heard accusing Dushyant of betrayal, saying the BJP was JJP’S enemy number 1.

Videos of Dushyant’s mother Naina Chautala’s election campaign, in which she was seen making a promise to party workers that they will not support the BJP at any cost, were also uploaded on social media.

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala also shared videos of election campaign of the BJP and JJP leaders, in which they were seen slamming each other.

Later, some JJP leaders came in Dushyant’s support on social media terming his decision a step taken for the welfare of Haryana.

Yadav quit the party on Saturday, accusing it of betraying the Haryana voters by extending support to the BJP in forming the government. He said the JJP was the B-team of the BJP.

“People of Haryana have rejected the BJP, but Dushyant has hurt the sentiments of people by extending support to the saffron party and proved that the JJP is B-team of the BJP,” the sacked BSP jawan said in a video message. He said he will oppose the JJP to wipe out it from political map of Haryana.

Yadav, who was dismissed from the BSF in 2017 after he posted a video complainin­g about the quality of food served to the troops, had joined the JJP for contesting the assembly election against chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar from the Karnal seat. He came third with 3,175 votes.

DUSHYANT GETS WARM WELCOME

On his way to Chandigarh, Dushyant stopped at Panipat, Karnal and Kurukshetr­a where JJP workers and supporters, who were waiting on the GT Road, greeted him with flowers. “The decision to support the BJP was taken to provide a stable government in Haryana and we will work as per the expectatio­ns of the people,” said JJP MLA from Shahbad Ram Karan Kala.

SECURITY BEEFED UP

Dushyant’s security was intensifie­d on Saturday after his party entered into a post-poll alliance with the BJP. The security was beefed up at his residences in Sirsa and Hisar towns.
