PM assures Centre’s support to strengthen industrial sector in HP
HE WAS APPRISED OF THE PREPARATIONS FOR THE GLOBAL INVESTORS MEET TO BE HELD AT DHARAMSHALA ON NOVEMBER 7-8
SHIMLA : Himachal Pradesh chief secretary Shrikant Baldi and additional chief secretary Manoj Kumar on Monday apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi about preparations for the Global Investors Meet to be held in Dharamsala on November 7 and 8.
They also briefed the Prime Minister about countries participating in the summit as well as investment likely to be attracted.
The PM appreciated the efforts of the state government and assured the Centre’s support to strengthen industrial sector in Himachal Pradesh.
The PM assured the state that he will attend the summit. He made a few suggestions for attracting larger investment and asked the government to focus on sectors such as tourism, manufacturing, skill development and developing traditional areas like ayurveda, horticulture and other local resources-based industry for a vibrant economy.
The state government has also requested the Centre to declare hydro projects as linear projects in the state.
Chief secretary Shrikant Baldi and additional chief secretary Manoj Kumar also met secretary tribal development Deepak Khandekar in New Delhi and pursued the issue of forest clearances that is delaying the progress of most developmental projects in the state.
Khandekar assured of all possible help in speeding up the matters and said he will visit the state soon to discuss these issues.
