18-YEAR-OLD SHOOTS HIMSELF DURING A TIKTOK STUNT, DIES

BAREILLY: A teenager died when he was trying to record a Tiktok video with a pistol and shot himself in the Hafizganj area in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Monday, the police said. Keshav Kumar, 18, the son of an armyman, was trying to strike a pose when he pressed the trigger and shot himself in the head, said his mother.

BAREILLY: An 18-year-old boy died when he was trying to record a Tiktok video with a pistol and accidental­ly shot himself in Mudia Bhikampur village of Hafizganj area in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Monday.

The boy, Keshav Kumar, reportedly returned from school and asked his mother Savitri Devi to give him the pistol. “I refused at first but when he insisted and kept pestering me, I relented and gave him the gun,” she said, adding that she was in the kitchen when she heard the gun-shot.

“I opened the door and found my son lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” she said

The boy was rushed to a private hospital in Bareilly where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Keshav was trying to strike a pose with the gun on his shoulder when he pressed the trigger and shot himself in the head, Savitri Devi said.

Keshav’s father, Virendra, is an army man posted in Roorkee.

“The boy’s family has refused post mortem. We have been told that the license of the pistol is in the name of Savitri Devi and that it was kept in a closet in their bedroom,” said Yogedra Kumar circle officer of Nawabganj police station.

Savitri Devi said that she had no idea the gun was loaded.

According to his mother, Keshav used to change his profile pictures constantly and shot Tik-tok videos following which he posted them on social media.
