2 CISF JAWANS KILLED, ANOTHER INJURED IN UDHAMPUR
JAMMU: Two Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were killed and another critically injured on Tuesday when a sentry allegedly opened fire at Soi Chkahar camp on the outskirts of Udhampur here, a police official said. The incident took place at Sui village, 5km from Udhampur district headquarters, he said.
Quoting preliminary information, he said the jawan allegedly opened fire at his colleagues inside the camp after he lost his temper during a heated argument over some issue.
Three injured jawans were rushed to the district hospital Udhampur, where two constables BN Murti and Mohammad Tasleem were declared brought dead, the official said.
He said another jawan, constable Sanjay Thali, was referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital, Jammu.
It was not immediately clear whether the jawan, who opened fire, is among the dead or injured, he said, adding that senior police and security officers have rushed to the spot and further details are awaited.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around 5pm, when trio were sitting inside the barrack, police said.
Other colleagues, after hearing the gunshots rushed to spot finding the trio in poll of blood. Two of the constables died on the spot. The critically injured constable was rushed to Military Hospital in Udhampur.
It is learnt that the constable is unconscious and only his statement will establish the exact cause behind the incident. The police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CRPC.
