Amid the lockdown, veteran actor Dharmendra has been regularly sharing videos of himself on social media with a motivational message. The videos are of him ploughing the land at his farm, checking on the vegetable crop, extending his “love and prayers” to everyone during the coronavirus crisis. He has been staying at his farmhouse, on the outskirts of Mumbai, since before the lockdown.

Talking about Covid-19, the 84-year-old says, “Ajeeb sa sannata ho gaya hai duniya mein. It feels like we are in an alien world. Everyone should take care of themselves and their families. Covid-19 aisi bimari hai jo choo ke chali jaati hai, pata nahin chalta ke ho gayi,” he states.

The actor says he is enjoying his time at the farm, growing his own food. He has been chilling in the company of workers and their kids. “Everyone should become a farmer, considering the current situation. I am used to the farm life and I love talking to plants. But I am also missing being in the city. City life has its own charm while farm life has its own advantages. Yahan sab workers hai, unke bachche hain toh achcha mahaul hai. And this quiet time also gives me an opportunity to pen down my thoughts and write some poetry,” he says.

A few days ago, Dharmendra made an emotional appeal in a video message. He said, “Human beings are paying for their sins. Coronavirus is the result of our bad deeds. Had we cared for humanity, we wouldn’t have been in this situation. At least today, learn your lesson. Love humanity and keep it alive.” Joining his hands, he said, “I am saying this with a heavy heart. Come together for the one above, for yourself, for your kids, for the world, for humanity.”
