HUES OF KINDNESS

Kareena Shankta, a class 10 student, has painted 16 canvases during the pandemic. With board exams cancelled, and swimming on hold, the national gold medallist picked up the brush for a cause. She is using the proceeds from the sale of her artwork to help feed migrants across India under life coach Veenapani Seksaria’s Shakkar Para Project, an emergency ration project inspired by the Indian army.

DOMESTIC WORKERS ARE FAMILY

Actor Alia Bhatt and her family planned a surprise birthday party for their domestic worker Rashida. Rashida posted the video on her Instagram. Domestic workers deserve to be treated with love and respect for all the hard work they do to keep our houses running. We could begin with banning words such as maid and servants from our vocabulary.

NO, HE WASN’T MONKEYING AROUND

Confidence can be a lifesaving trait. This guy showed up right at the Patil Hospital in Dandeli after sustaining an injury. The monkey sat quietly outside the hospital, generating a lot of excitement among other patients. He was given medical treatment by the compassion­ate staff.

THIS JUGAAD GETS FULL MARKS!

Moumita B, a chemistry teacher from Pune, shared on an employment site the jugaad she uses for her online classes during the lockdown. It’s a desi jugaad tripod! As Moumita writes the lessons on the chalkboard, she secures her phone to a clothes hanger, tying it between a plastic chair and the ceiling, so that the chalkboard is clearly visible to her students.
