Randy has found new respect for fans

WWE wrestling was declared an essential service in Florida, USA in April. The decision surprised many, owing to safety concerns of all those involved. However, WWE superstar Randy Orton, who defeated Edge in the headline pay-per-view match on Monday, has been visiting the facility frequently and assures that officials are taking all the necessary precautions. “There are hand sanitisers installed everywhere and everybody has to wear a mask unless when wrestling. A whole team of doctors talk to us before we enter and check that nobody has the symptoms,” he tells us. Being former World Tag Team Champions, Randy Orton and Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, have one of the biggest rivalries. While he has been sweating it out hard, he admits enjoying every bit of it. “There is no comparison to practising in the ring, but I’ve been making the most of the swimming pool at home, running laps and working out with my teenage sons,” reveals the wrestler, who’s known for his signature RKO move.

However, Orton misses his fans now more than ever. He reveals, “It (lockdown) has made me realise that fans are the most important part of the show. If anything, it has made me have a new-found respect for fans.”

The lockdown has, however, given him a chance to spend time with family – wife Kim Orton and his five children – something which he would otherwise not be able to do because he is constantly on the road. He adds, “I watch movies with my family, teach my daughter to swim and hike with the boys.”
