PAYING HEED TO NATURE’S ADVICE
Actor Anushka Sharma posted a beautiful picture of her home garden. She is fully immersed in adjusting the plants in her balcony. Amid the lockdown, gardening has emerged as a therapeutic activity as the colour green soothes the eyes, uplifts your mood and you feel connected to the roots. “Me and my buddies,” Sharma captioned her photo.
CORONA, NOW CAN YOU GO AWAY!!!
Our little reader from Delhi, Sarthak Grover, 10, penned a poem on Covid-19 and the lockdown. ‘Corona, corona, You have taught us to live, You have taught us to stay, Now can you go away!!! .... We will not take pity on you, hear me say, Now can you go away!!!’ He has also drawn a painting that depicts a healthier planet, and yearns for better days.
A SAVIOUR FOR STRAY DOGS
Director Abhijit Das has been feeding around 120 stray dogs everyday at Madh Island, Mumbai. On normal days, a hotspot for TV serials and film shootings, the island has been barren after the announcement of the lockdown, resulting in stray dogs and cats going hungry for days together. Das has taken upon himself to feed these four-legged creatures.
PROTEST BUT WITH A FACE MASK ON!
Covid-19 can’t keep people away from protesting for causes close to their hearts. From wearing plastic bottles, baby diapers to cardboard boxes, people have come up with novel ways to avoid getting infected by Covid-19. A protester wore a face shield of recycled plastic bottles, by artist Leeroy New, during an anti-terror bill rally at the University of the Philippines. Whether it’s rallies, schools, malls or offices, masks will be a permanent accessory for days to come!
