Suicide pact: Three friends consume poison in Karnal, two die
KARNAL: Three teenagers from Kaimla village of Karnal district attempted suicide by consuming poisonous substance and two of them died on their way to the hospital on Tuesday. The third boy has been hospitalised and his condition is said to be critical.
The deceased were aged 16 and 19, while the survivor is 17 years old. He is under observation at the Karnal government hospital.
As per their village head Sunil Kumar, two of them were college students while the youngest one studied in Class 12.
He said they were good friends and belonged to poor families.
However, the cause of suicide could not be ascertained as their family members were in shock after the incident, he added.
As per the villagers they consumed poison around 9pm on Monday and went home. Soon after, they started vomiting and complained of severe stomach pain and were rushed to hospital.
Gharaunda police station in-charge Manoj Kumar said two youths died on their way to the hospital after consuming poison and one is critical.
The cop said their families did not file any complaint and inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 174 of Code of Criminal Procedure, as per their statement.
He said police were waiting to record the survivor’s statement.
‘NOBODY RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR DEATH’
The police officials associated with the investigation said before consuming poison, they recorded an audio message in a mobile phone claiming that they were taking the extreme step on their own as they can live and die for each other and nobody is responsible for their deaths.
