HUNDREDS PROTEST IN MOGA DEFYING BAN ON GATHERINGS

Moga Amid ban on any gathering above 50 people in the state,hundreds of people under the banner of Kirti Kisan Union (KKU) gathered in Moga on Monday to protest against arrest of union leaders and demanding their release. Police had arrested union Kirti Kisan Union state president Nirbhay Singh on June 19 for violation of norms during a protest against displacement of fish market in Moga. Kirti Kisan Union vice president Rajinder Singh said the police were acting at the behest of the Congress leaders and trying to suppress their protest.
