I-day themed face masks woo netizens
With face masks becoming an indispensable part of our lives, they shouldn’t hamper the enthusiasm of any celebrations, right? So with Independence Day (August 15), fast approaching, masks with patriotic themes and tagline are ruling over social media.
Shohrab Siddiqui, who’s marketing for a range of such masks on a social media platform, says, “I am getting a lot of queries. And as the day approaches, we are expecting the sales to be good. People love to flaunt such quirky things in pictures on I-day.”
Sales are good, agrees Delhibased Ankit Tewari, who has a store in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar. “Masks ab compulsory ho gaye hai aur har kisi ko pehnne hai. Independence Day aa raha hain toh celebration to hota hi hai. So we thought this was a good idea that’ll help one to be safe, yet look good. Mostly youngsters are buying and even kids, too. We have N95 Tiranga mask, too,” he says. Priya Sardana, a seller based out of Haryana, is delivering across India and is selling tricolour T-shirts with matching masks. Elaborating on the demand for such products that have tagline such as ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ and ‘Happy Independence Day’, among others, Sardana, says, “Normally there is a good sale as many offices and societies organise I-day events. However, due to Covid-19, such events are not expected. Nonetheless, these things cannot affect patriotism of people. Thus, we are still receiving enquiries and many customer say that it’s pride of this day which matters.”
Ravi Raghav, from Faridabad, who is delivering tricolour masks across DelhiNCR, says, “Through these masks, there will be an enthusiasm in people and at this time, people in the country need it. On this Independence Day, we can all prove that we are one and we can beat any virus together!”
