27 BOOKED FOR MURDER BID FOR ATTACK ON HARYANA DY SPEAKER’S CAR
Hisar police, on Sunday, booked seven men by name and 20 unidentified people under ‘attempt to murder’ for allegedly attacking the cavalcade of Haryana assembly deputy speaker Ranbir Singh Gangwa on way to Arya Nagar village in the district on Saturday.
An FIR ( first information report) was lodged at Azad Nagar police station in Hisar under various sections, including Section 307 ( attempt to murder) of the Indian penal Code ( IPC) and prevention of damage to public property Act, 1984, against Sandeep Dhiranwas, Manjeet Bishnoi, Amit Bishnoi, Satish Lora, Amit Bisla, Rajesh Bhakar, Anil and others.
Deputy speaker’s security personnel lodged an FIR against the farmers accusing them of stopping Gangwa’s cavalcade at Arya Nagar village and pelting stones at his car. Talking to HT over phone, Gangwa said the farmers had stopped their path when he visited Arya Nagar village on Saturday. “The farmers blocked my path, pelted stone at my car and scuffled with my security personnel. The farmers have right to hold protest but can’t harm anybody,” he added.
Sandeep Dhiranwas, a farm leader, said they were being booked in false cases at behest of the government. “We respect the Constitution and the government cannot suppress our voice,” he said.
Vikas Kumar, a spokesperson of Hisar police, said a probe has been launched into the matter.
