Haryana government directs officials to cooperate with VB

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government has directed heads of department­s and other senior officers of all department­s to cooperate with the investigat­ing officers (IOS) of the state vigilance bureau and provide record of the department­s concerned during any inspection.

A spokespers­on said the Haryana chief secretary has given these instructio­ns to all boards and corporatio­ns of the state, heads of all department­s, all additional chief secretarie­s, principal secretarie­s, divisional commission­ers, deputy commission­ers, registrars of the Punjab and Haryana high court and district and sessions judges.

The spokespers­on said sometimes records are not being made available to the IOS during vigilance inspection due to which there is delay and unnecessar­y hardship to complete vigilance investigat­ion in time.

Taking a serious note of this, the state government has directed the aforesaid officials to immediatel­y provide records or informatio­n related to the investigat­ion. The spokespers­on said the directions have been given to strictly follow the instructio­ns.

SOMETIMES RECORDS ARE NOT MADE AVAILABLE DURING VIGILANCE INSPECTION, CAUSING DELAYS

GURUGRAM: The police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly selling counterfei­t versions of several fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) of branded companies from Palam Vihar on Thursday.

According to the police, a brand protection consultant conducted a preliminar­y investigat­ion and found that the suspect was selling duplicate washing powder, tea, soap and dishwashin­g products in the wholesale market.

Later, a report was submitted to the police that stated the products collected during the probe were confirmed to be fake. The police, after preliminar­y investigat­ion, found that a man was running a packaging unit and was supplying the products across the city.

A case under sections 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957; sections 103 and 104 of the Trademarks Act, 1999, and sections 420 (cheating),485 (counterfei­ting),486 (selling counterfei­t goods),487 (false marking) and 471 (forged documents) of the Indian Penal CODE(IPC) was registered at Palam Vihar police station.

Pankaj Gupta, director of operations of Greves Protection Management Private Limited, the brand consultant, lodged a complaint with the police, regarding the unit in Palam Vihar area, which was selling duplicate products of at least three reputed companies.
