Haryana government directs officials to cooperate with VB
CHANDIGARH: Haryana government has directed heads of departments and other senior officers of all departments to cooperate with the investigating officers (IOS) of the state vigilance bureau and provide record of the departments concerned during any inspection.
A spokesperson said the Haryana chief secretary has given these instructions to all boards and corporations of the state, heads of all departments, all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, registrars of the Punjab and Haryana high court and district and sessions judges.
The spokesperson said sometimes records are not being made available to the IOS during vigilance inspection due to which there is delay and unnecessary hardship to complete vigilance investigation in time.
Taking a serious note of this, the state government has directed the aforesaid officials to immediately provide records or information related to the investigation. The spokesperson said the directions have been given to strictly follow the instructions.
SOMETIMES RECORDS ARE NOT MADE AVAILABLE DURING VIGILANCE INSPECTION, CAUSING DELAYS
GURUGRAM: The police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly selling counterfeit versions of several fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) of branded companies from Palam Vihar on Thursday.
According to the police, a brand protection consultant conducted a preliminary investigation and found that the suspect was selling duplicate washing powder, tea, soap and dishwashing products in the wholesale market.
Later, a report was submitted to the police that stated the products collected during the probe were confirmed to be fake. The police, after preliminary investigation, found that a man was running a packaging unit and was supplying the products across the city.
A case under sections 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957; sections 103 and 104 of the Trademarks Act, 1999, and sections 420 (cheating),485 (counterfeiting),486 (selling counterfeit goods),487 (false marking) and 471 (forged documents) of the Indian Penal CODE(IPC) was registered at Palam Vihar police station.
Pankaj Gupta, director of operations of Greves Protection Management Private Limited, the brand consultant, lodged a complaint with the police, regarding the unit in Palam Vihar area, which was selling duplicate products of at least three reputed companies.
