Low turnout in Haryana for booster dose of Covid vaccine
CHANDIGARH: A low turnout of beneficiaries for the second or booster dose of the coronavirus in Haryana was witnessed as the state government did not plan more vaccination sessions due to routine immunisation on Saturday. Only 325 people were administered the second dose compared to 5,907 persons who were administered the first dose on January 16.
JAMMU: A terrorist affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), wanted in connection with the killing of three BJP workers and a policeman in south Kashmir last year, was arrested in Samba district, police said on Saturday.
The terrorist, identified as Zahoor Ahmad Rather of south Kashmir, had reportedly moved to Samba to receive an arms consignment from Pakistan. “He was arrested from his rented accommodation in Bari Brahmana area during a joint raid by Anantnag and Samba police late on Friday night,” said Samba SSP Rajesh Sharma.
An FIR had been registered in Anantnag against the accused in a terror case, he added.
The accused had allegedly killed a policeman in Furrah, Kulgam and three BJP workers in Vessu, Kulgam last year.
Rather was putting up at one Sadiq Hussain’s house in Teli Vastu of Bari Brahmana.
The TRF is an offshoot of Lashker-e-toiba (LET) terror outfit. Rather’s arrest comes a week after police arrested selfstyled commander of Lashkar-emustafa, Hidayatullah Malik alias “Hasnain”, from Kunjwani area of Jammu.
