Delhi government launched ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahin Makaan’ scheme for EWS and slum dwellers
Under the scheme 89,400 flats for EWS and slum dwellers will be built and given to eligible persons as per Mukhya Mantri Awaas Yojna
In a bid to provide permanent housing to the poor and the needy, the Delhi government fulfilled its promise and initiated the 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahin Makaan' policy for eligible persons.. To fulfill the needs of the economically weaker section of the society, the Delhi government launched 'Jahan Jhuggi Wahin Makaan' Scheme under which 89,400 flats for EWS and slum dwellers will be built and given to the eligible persons. In meetings held at regular intervals, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed the officials to ensure the allotment of the flats within five km of where their slums were located, for which the land should be allotted. The project will be executed and implemented by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board.
