-

A 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a chain snatcher she had fought back in north-west Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar on Saturday night. CCTV footage of the incident, widely shared on social media on Sunday, showed the attacker first lunging at the chain of the woman, Simran Kaur, returning home from a local market with her mother and twoyear-old daughter. The footage showed Simran fighting back her attacker who, before fleeing with his accomplice, stabbed Simran multiple times. According to police, the incident took place between 9pm and 9.15pm when Simran — who lives with her husband in Patiala and was visiting her parents — was returning from a local flea market. Witnesses said when Simran and her mother Mamta entered lane number seven from Rajan Babu Road to reach their home, the snatcher approached them from behind.
