SRINAGAR: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued an order, denying security clearance for passport and other government services to all those involved in “law and order and stone pelting cases”.
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration will deny passports and government jobs to all such persons against whom there is evidence of their involvement in stone-pelting and other law and order-related problems.
The criminal investigation department (CID) of the J&K Police has issued an order that security clearance should be denied to all such persons against whom there are digital or police records regarding involvement in stone-pelting and other law and order problems.
The order on behalf of the J&K government has been issued to all the officials who are involved in the verification process ahead of issuing passport or government job verification clearance.
“All the field units of CID SB Kashmir are hereby directed to ensure that during verification related to passport, services and any other verification to government services/schemes, the subjects’ involvement in law and order, stone-pelting cases and other crime prejudicial to the security of the state be specifically looked into and same must be corroborated from the local police station records,” reads the order issued by CID, senior superintendent of police.
The order further mentioned that if there is any digital evidence like CCTV footage, photographs, videos and audio clips, quadcopter images available in the records of the police, security forces and security agencies be also referred.
“Any subject found involved in any such cases must be denied the security clearance,” it was mentioned.
The fresh circular is aimed to deny jobs or passports to all such persons against whom cases stand registered in various police stations or their names have been flagged during investigation of various crime or militancy or stone-pelting related cases.
BJP chief Raina welcomes move
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina on Sunday welcomed the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s decision to deny security clearance for passports and other government services to all those involved in stone-pelting or subversive activities.
Raina said it is a great step and would serve as a severe blow to those elements conspiring against the country and fleeing abroad to escape accountability.
Reacting to the order, the BJP leader said there are some “antinational powers” in Jammu and Kashmir who are supporters of terrorism and Pakistan.
“They use passports to flee the country and also get absorbed in government jobs besides getting contracts of (developmental) projects. As per the new order, they will not get the security clearance which is a good step and will serve as a severe blow to such elements,” the J&K BJP president further said.
He said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha are worthy of praise for coming out with such a “major decision” in the interest of the country amid a spurt in anti-terrorist operations that has led to the killing of a number of dreaded terrorists.
