The qualifying mark for an automatic berth in the final is 83.50m, which Chopra—with a personal best of 88.07m—should touch. Shivpal Singh, India's other javelin thrower in Tokyo, will also be in action.

record last month.
WRESTLING Deepak Punia
EVENT: MEN'S FREESTYLE 86KG 1/8 FINAL
The 2019 World Championships silver medallist will kickstart his Tokyo show against Nigeria's Ekerekeme Agiomor, who is the African championship bronze medallist. Should the second seeded Indian get past him, he will be up against either the Chinese Zushen Lin or Peru's
Ambrocio Greifo.
BOXING Lovlina Borgohain
EVENT: WOMEN'S 64-69KG SEMIFINAL
Having already assured herself, and the country, of a bronze medal, the boxer from Assam will be looking to go all out to change the colour of the medal. But she faces a difficult challenge in the form of Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli, the 2019 world champion in the category, for a place in the final.
