LUDHIANA: Sangrur MP and Aam Aadmi Party’s campaign committee head Bhagwant Mann has dared Shiromani Akali Dal 9SAD) president and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to contest against him from Jalalabad segment in the upcoming assembly polls.

Addressing a rally at Jagraon on Wednesday, Mann said: “It’s my sincere wish that I contest against Sukhbir. I am willing to contest against him from any constituency of his choice.”

He also accused the Badals of blatantly using the government machinery to foil political rallies of AAP out of frustration. “The Badals are resorting to undemocratic and foolish acts. However, we are unperturbed as people know the truth,” said Mann.

He alleged that the Badals were patronising drug, land mafia and mining mafias that have made the life of people miserable. “Each and every section of society is fed up from the SAD-BJP combine government which rendered the youth jobless and the poor people are facing a lot of hardships,” he said.

Hitting out at the Congress, the AAP leader alleged the party was responsible for “committing huge scams” and said people will “never forgive them for that.” He also sought a high-level inquiry into Captain Amarinder Singh’s alleged foreign accounts and “illegal transactions of his family members.” MAUR (BATHINDA): Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), deputy chief minister (CM) Sukhbir Singh Badal compared Arvind Kejriwal led AAP with that of British empire on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering during Akali Dal rally in Maur constituency Sukhbir said if the AAP comes to power in 2017, its leaders will loot Punjab just like the British did with India.

“By winning Punjab, Kejriwal wanted to do confrontation politics to settle scores with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The AAP rule will lead Punjab into a complete mess,” said deputy CM.

“Though AAP managed to win four seats during parliamentary elections by luck only, but the people of Punjab will not make this happen in 2017 assembly elections,” said Sukhbir

“From naxalites to people, who either have marital or family disputes, joined AAP with no political standing,” said Sukhbir, while taking jibe at AAP.

Labelling AAP as party of turncoats, Sukhbir said the politicians, who were shown door by other political outfits, joined the said party.

Meanwhile, Sukhbir attacked Congress and exhorted people to ask their leaders about the development done during Congress tenure from 2000-2007.

“The Congress had nothing to offer to voters, since it had done nothing during its tenure. Its leaders must tell people
