Hooda also called upon Congress workers to expose what he termed as anti-farmer policies of the BJP government in the state.

He said he had come to Ambala to assert that he would continue to raise people’s voice. “My voice will not die down till the end. I am prepared to launch an agitation for the rights of people and you stay prepared for it,” he added.

Congress workers raised their hands in agreement when he repeatedly asked them if they too were anguished against the BJP government’s functioning.

Hooda demanded that the Khattar government step down as it had failed to fulfil any the 154 promises it made to people before coming to power.

“Where are the unemployment allowances, jobs and the recommendations of the Swaminathan panel report that the BJP leaders promised in to implement in their poll speeches?” he asked and added that the BJP government had no answers to any questions people now asked.

He lashed out at the government on the farmers’ issues and held that it was acting like an agent of the private insurance companies by forcibly deducting money from farmers’ accounts for crop insurance. He said he would now visit all the mandis (grain markets) where farmers were being cheated by giving receipts on purchase of their paddy produce as per minimum support price (MSP) even as they were actually being paid much less.
