FATEHGARH SAHIB: Claiming that the November 10 Sarbat Khalsa (Sikh congregation) will be held as per schedule, Sikh radical leader and “acting jathedar” of Takht Damdama Sahib Baljit Singh Daduwal on Thursday said Panj Paryas, who were sacked by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) last year, would be invited for the event.

Daduwal said this at a meeting with other “acting jathedars” Dhian Singh Mand, Amrik Singh Ajnala and representatives of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Akali Dal, Akali Dal (Independent) and Akali Dal (1920) at the residence of SAD(A) chief Simranjit Singh Mann.

“The Sarbat Khalsa will be held as per schedule come what may. We will meet the Panj Pyaras and urge them to participate,” said Daduwal.

“Another Sarbat Khalsa would be held on Baisakhi next year,” he added. Organisers are also targeting Sikhs from across the country and have made a 150-member committee to reach out to them.
