EX-PUNJAB CONG SECY JOINS AAP

CHANDIGARH: Former secretary of Punjab unit of the Congress, Bhupinder Singh Bittu, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday.

Besides him, former deputy advocate general of Punjab Gulshan Sharma has also joined the party, the AAP said in a release. Bittu, who contested the Khadoor Sahib byelection as an independent in February 2016 and bagged 18,000 votes, joined the AAP in presence of the party’s state convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich, it said.

Bittu was appointed president of the block Congress committee, Khadoor Sahib, in 1998. He remained sarpanch of Khawaspur gram sabha from 2002 to 2007 and block samiti member from 2008 to 2013.
