- HT Correspondent

ROHTAK: Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Thursday conferred degrees on 1,798 passing out doctors at Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences at its maiden convocation ceremony.

The governor, who is also the chancellor of the university, advised the doctors to maintain the dignity of their profession.

“Medicine is a noble profession and doctors are considered next to God. Doctors must use their skills for humanity and not merely to make money. They should always be sympathetic to their patients.

In today’s world, it is very important to gain the trust and confidence of the patient which helps in his recovery,” he said while advising doctors to choose spiritual path.

Dr OP Kalra, vice-chancellor of the health varsity, said the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) will soon have the facility of kidney transplantation for which doctors and nurses have been sent to AIIMS in Delhi to undergo training.

He also said the institute, for the first time, filled vacancies through online procedure to ensure transparency.
