Haryana govt to provide computer training to girls

CHANDIGARH The Haryana government on Friday said it will provide computer training to 840 girls in urban and semi-urban villages of the state.

Under the scheme, the Haryana Women Developmen­t Corporatio­n (HWDC) along with the technical education department will provide computer training for six months, an official spokespers­on said.

The training will be provided to Class 12-pass girls in urban, semi-urban and big villages. The girls will have to submit their applicatio­n to the HWDC district manager and, from every district, there will be 40 girls in each of the two batches.

Preference will be given to girls belonging below poverty line (BPL) families, the spokespers­on added.. ROHTAK: All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) chief Yashpal Malik on Friday refused to hold any further talks with the five-member panel formed by the state government, claiming that it had no powers to agree to their demands.

Malik, who has been leading the Jat agitation in 20 districts of Haryana for the past 27 days, said their talks with the government have failed twice so far because the panel came unprepared both times. The decision was taken in a meeting of the AIJASS core committee at the Jassia dharna on Friday. Talking to the media, Malik alleged that the government was booking Jat youths on false charges so it could save its own ministers.

“There are hundreds of instances where the BJP government has shown a biased approach so it could save its own leaders. In Rohtak, the initial violence happened on the behest of BJP MLA Manish Grover, who was later inducted into the state cabinet so he could be saved from inquiry. No action has been taken against BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini, who left no stone unturned to instigate violence,” Malik said.
