Power supply to Rupnagar govt offices snapped
RUPNAGAR: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has disconnected power supply to offices of government departments in Rupnagar district for defaulting in payment of electricity bills.
At Nangal, the PSPCL snapped power connection of the tehsildar’s office, Seva Kendras at Barari, Ajauli, Bhibhor Sahib and lift irrigation scheme at Patti village.
The PSPCL has also issued notices to defaulting departments, including the municipal council and Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital to clear the power bill dues of Rs 9 lakh and Rs 1.3 lakh, respectively, by Tuesday failing which their power connections would be snapped.
At Rupnagar, the PSPCL has disconnected the power connection of offices of the irrigation department, revenue office, streetlights, fountains of the improvement trust and streetlights of the MC.
