Power supply to Rupnagar govt offices snapped

RUPNAGAR: Punjab State Power Corporatio­n Limited (PSPCL) has disconnect­ed power supply to offices of government department­s in Rupnagar district for defaulting in payment of electricit­y bills.

At Nangal, the PSPCL snapped power connection of the tehsildar’s office, Seva Kendras at Barari, Ajauli, Bhibhor Sahib and lift irrigation scheme at Patti village.

The PSPCL has also issued notices to defaulting department­s, including the municipal council and Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital to clear the power bill dues of Rs 9 lakh and Rs 1.3 lakh, respective­ly, by Tuesday failing which their power connection­s would be snapped.

At Rupnagar, the PSPCL has disconnect­ed the power connection of offices of the irrigation department, revenue office, streetligh­ts, fountains of the improvemen­t trust and streetligh­ts of the MC.
