MURDER OF DERA FOLLOWER IN JUNE LAST YEAR STILL UNSOLVED

Police have failed to solve the murder of Dera Sacha Sauda follower, Gurdev Singh, who was shot dead in June last year at Burj Jawaharsingh Wala village in Faridkot district. The murder took place in the village from where Guru Granth Sahib had gone missing, followed by desecration of the holy pages at the nearby Bargadi town in October 2015. So far, police have questioned three people and made one arrest.The only suspect arrested, granthi Gora Singh of Burj Jawaharsingh Wala is in custody. “He has been taken to Ahmedabad (Gujarat) for a lie-detection test," DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra, who heads the special investigation team formed to solve the case, told HT.
