Panipat woman kills 5-yr-old son before committing suicide

PANIPAT A 27-year-old woman allegedly killed her five-yearold son before committing suicide at Kavi village under the Matlauda police station in Panipat district.

The deceased have been identified as Monika, wife of Rajendra Singh, and their son Kavish. Their seven-year-old daughter Tanika was also found injured in the house.

Cops also recovered a suicide note from the house, in which the woman reportedly stated that no one from her family should be disturbed, as she was responsibl­e for the crime.

Monika’s brother Pradeep, however, accused her husband of killing Monika and Kavish.

Matlauda police station in-charge Dharambir Singh said: “The woman was found hanging from a window sill and the child was found dead on the floor, with injuries on his face.” The girl was also seriously injured and was admitted to a private hospital, he said.

Police are probing the matter on the basis of the suicide note as well as Pradeep’s allegation, and are awaiting the autopsy reports.
