-

ROHTAK/HISAR: A journalist working with a television channel was allegedly manhandled while he was covering a dharna at Ikkas village in Jind district on Sunday. The protesters were reportedly upset with media for unfavourable reporting. Later, the committee members issued an apology to the scribe.

Sources said when the news of assault ran on the TV channel, residents of his native village in Hisar got angry with him for portraying the protests in bad light. The scribe had to seek police help.

Hisar superintendent of police Rajendra Kumar Meena said after the journalist gave a written complaint, he was given police security, but later he sought its withdrawal.
