Beheading remark: Cong leader ropes in SC lawyer to argue against Ramdev
ROHTAK Congress leader Subhash Batra, who had moved court seeking an FIR against yoga guru Ramdev for his ‘beheading remark’, roped in Supreme Court advocate RK Anand to argue his case in the Rohtak’s district court on Monday. Anand was also an INLD-backed independent candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat in Haryana. During the proceedings, Anand argued that Ramdev be summoned under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, to which the court asked for any precedent and set the date for March 2. Earlier, in April last year, Ramdev had courted controversy, saying, “If not for law, he could have beheaded lakhs of people refusing to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
