CHANDIGARH: A day after suspension of a jail warder, the inspector general of police (prisons), Jagjeet Singh, submitted his report on the ‘vulgar’ dance video of Jind jail to additional chief secretary Ram Niwas here on Monday, in which he has also held jail superintendent Atma Ram and his deputy Seva Singh guilty of dereliction of duty.

As per officials, the jail authorities didn’t take permission to invite a dance troupe to the jail for the ‘Holi bash’.

Jail’s head warder Satyawan Singh, who was seen dancing in close proximity to a female dancer, had been suspended on Sunday itself.

Jagjeet was asked to conduct an inquiry after a video showing some jail officials making ‘vulgar’ dance moves alongside a female dancer went viral on the social media on Saturday.

The event was reportedly organised on the jail premises for the entertainment of the inmates this Holi (March 13).

The IG, along with Jind deputy commissioner Vinay Singh, had inspected the jail on Sunday and recorded statements of prisoners and other officials.

After the suspension, Satyawan had complained of chest pain and was shifted to a hospital. The authorities, however, called his act a drama to save him from interrogation.

Interacting with newspersons here on Monday, Ram Niwas said a strict action will be taken against the jail superintendent and his deputy indicted by the IG of dereliction of duty.
